A bloated stack is procrastination

A bloated stack is procrastination

A bloated tool stack is procrastination with a credit card.

You do not need a second camera, a podcast network, or five AI apps to look professional. You need repeatable quality and a way to send files on time. Brands forgive grain. They do not forgive a late Drive.

What actually matters

  • Phone you already own. 4K is plenty. Clean the lens.
  • Light. A window. Then a cheap LED if the window is gone. Not a ring-light haul.
  • Audio. A lavalier or a quiet room. Brands will not hire a voice they cannot hear.
  • Edit. CapCut is enough. Premiere if you already live there. One editor, not four.
  • Hooks. A notes app. Write the first line before you hit record.
  • Delivery. Google Drive or WeTransfer with a folder named for the brand. Frame.io if they insist.
  • Money. A rate on a page. An invoice tool (Wave, HoneyBook, a numbered PDF). Getting paid is part of the craft.

That is the stack. If a tool is not on this list, it is optional until a job requires it.

Skip until you are booked

A second body, a cinema camera, a podcast network, an AI avatar, five caption apps, a CRM for 12 email addresses.

Buy gear when it has blocked you three times. Not when a YouTuber sold you a “kit for 2026.”

How we know the stack is the problem

You have not posted in a month because you are “waiting on the new mic.” The niche is still “lifestyle.” The rate is still “DM me.”

Fix the line and the cadence first. The tool will not invent a room.

When you apply here, we will not ask what camera you use. We will ask for a piece of work. If we can hear you and we can name the niche, you have the tools.

How to send the work

One folder. Brand name, date, your name. Verticals labeled 01, 02, 03 — not IMG_8841. Captions in a text file if they asked for them. No WeTransfer that expires in three days unless you warned them.

If they cannot find the file, you did not deliver. The stack is not CapCut. The stack is a folder a stranger can open on a Thursday.
