Your Hispanic calendar is not Cinco and Heritage Month

A burst in May, a nod in September, silence the rest of the year. That isn’t a plan. It’s a costume.

Your Hispanic calendar is not Cinco and Heritage Month

Cinco. Hispanic Heritage Month. Then nothing. That calendar tells the room you studied a slide, not a family.

Cinco is a commercial, not the center

For most U.S. Hispanic households, Cinco de Mayo is not the high holiday. Showing up only then is how a brand looks like a guest who Googled “Hispanic dates.”

The year is already full

Día de los Muertos, Las Posadas, Three Kings, Semana Santa, quinceañeras, back-to-school for multi-gen houses, World Cup summers, a film premiere with Hispanic talent. Each one is a chance to be useful — not festive for two weeks.

Change the plan

  • Map moments to product use, not logo colors.
  • Brief creators from the actual community you want, not “Hispanic 18–34.”
  • Keep a retainer. A two-week burst is how you stay a stranger.
  • Listen to music, fútbol, the neighborhood — not only the holiday list.

Year-round is how you stop looking like a guest.
